A blessing

I found this lovely blessing on the “Light and Sound” WordPress blog site.

It fits beautifully with what I have been posting recently, but Pamela also notes that Yeshua (JESUS) is never shaken!  He is steadfast and fights for us.  He is our great intercessor, and we find our confidence in Him.

May you be blessed to know Him intimately, and find freedom to fulfill your purpose and passion for His glory!

Sincerely for Souls,

Kathleen

Pamela's avatarLight and Sound

I call your G-d given human spirit to attention.

The disciples were going across the sea as they were commanded, purposed for the other side. With Jesus on the boat and the great skill of the accompanying seamen, they had no reason to doubt their goal, it was just another trip across the sea.

The winds picked up,  the waves started to swell and it wasn’t long before they were in the midst of a storm so mighty that even the men who had spent their entire lives on the sea were struck with fear in their hearts, all while Jesus slept. They didn’t want to wake Him. He had been ministering everywhere and they knew He was tired in body, but this storm was different, so they cried out to Him.

Jesus stirred from the sounds of their panic. He walked solidly in the dominion His…

Shakings

my commentary on “SHAKING” and the following prophetic word from David Wilkerson in 1996.  PLEASE COMMENT & SHARE.

Attached is a teaching by David Wilkerson from 1996.  He was a prophet WAY AHEAD OF HIS TIME.  He warned us to prepare us for the tribulation to come.

The scriptures included deal with the “shakings” in our lives that were prophesied by other prophets of God, long, long ago.  We all have experienced shakings, and will continue to in the future.  The key is to take a good look at the trials in our life, past and present, and learn from them for the future.

What was God trying to remove in us, and how has He strengthened us because of it?  Are we resentful, or bitter, because of the pain and inconvenience of circumstances.  Or can we see the pearl of wisdom meant to prepare us for the battle ahead; to be healed and whole, with God as our source, and to be warriors instead of wimps!

I am reminded of the rose; beautiful and fragrant, yet undergirded by thorns that can be painful.  A reality that we cannot have one without the other.

God is in the business of restoration, but the bigger goal in trials is to get us focused OUTSIDE of ourselves, and toward those that need the light of truth in Jesus.  Look upward to The Father for revelation, comfort, and healing, then outward, sharing the hope of that knowledge with the lost and hopeless.

Allow pain to become a perfume that is pleasing to God and others.  And make sure your faith is rooted in the firm foundation of Yeshua (Jesus), not circumstances.  How will you act under pressure; with fear or faith?

Give yourself an hour to read David Wilkerson’s sermon, so you have time to receive and respond to God’s heart for you.

I’m praying the blessings of peace and assurance, that are under God’s control, with your obedience, to touch each one of you.  And during this Passover season, when we ponder the sacrifice of Jesus for our souls, may each of you realize the life-giving grace of His resurrection, and experience the fullness of His Spirit.

10 “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. 19 Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.” (Ephesians 6:10-20)

Retreating & Resting

With three rental homes between Missouri and Minnesota, we found ourselves homeless.

The house in Minnesota was our permanent dwelling for twenty years, and the other two, in Missouri, we’ve lived in, back and forth, for the past four years as we remodeled.  Now they are all rented out.

Thankfully, November 2014, the week before Thanksgiving, we headed north to spend the winter at a friend’s cabin.  They graciously provided us with a temporary shelter, until we could figure out the next step in the adventure of our journey called LIFE.

As ministers, we were burnt out.  Between involving ourselves serving in various Christian ministries over the years, and remodeling houses for the past six, we were exhausted and disillusioned.  It was time to get away.

Sleeping in, reading, watching movies, and exploring the small seniorized towns of northern Minnesota was our main activity for two months.  Asking God for direction, reenergizing, healing, and clarity was our goal.

My best revelations, and answers to questions, came as I began to find an early morning routine, while it was still dark.  Journaling my encounters with God, and sharing insights and encouraging articles with others on social media, helped me document and reference these life changing moments.

I’ve taken time for ME, to do the things I’ve always wanted to do, without schedules or expectations from anyone.

I’ve read and studied many books on watercolor painting, bought supplies, and experimented with several techniques.  What a great creative outlet.  I LOVE IT!

I’ve read several books on homesteading, sustainable living, regenerative earth stewardship (Fields of Farmers, by Joel Salatin, Polyface Farms), and the possibilities of simple dwellings as in the current Tiny House craze.

I began volunteering at the local food shelf and thrift store, once a week, just to have some social interaction and help in the small, but thriving, tourist community.

As our time in this lakeside cabin is coming to an end, I am truly rejuvenated and ready to explore the possibilities before us; maybe taking a truck camper to spend a few months in Redding, CA, motorcycle rides in the west coast mountains, a visit to see my  two year old grandson in Washington, or adventures in Alaska?

“A man’s heart plans his way, but The Lord directs his steps (if you let Him).”  Proverbs 16:9 NKJV – Italics mine.

I’m not 100% sure what we will be doing the rest of 2015, but as we make time to “be still and know He is God,” it will become clear.

Following is a timely devotional I read this week.  It put everything in perspective, calmed my fear of the unknown, and confirmed some insights.  May you find peace as you GET AWAY!

Time to Get Away

Mark reports that “while it was still dark,” our Savior had a habit of heading to a “solitary place, where he prayed” (Mark 1:35). Evidently Jesus felt the need to fellowship with his heavenly Father in an undistracted setting. In like fashion, for you and me to hear where the Lord is leading us in our journey, to have the ability to commune with him without interruptions, we must get away from the “noise” of our lives, with its endless eye candy and diversions.

This is easier said than done. Almost anywhere you go these days there are televisions cackling away in a corner. From the TVs in our homes, to the multiple TV screens hanging from ceilings in restaurants, to the TV in our pockets on our cell phones, it’s difficult to escape the constant stream of entertainment. Nevertheless, we have this example of Jesus who went to a solitary place to hear from God.

Elsewhere Mark notes, “After leaving them, he went up on a mountainside to pray” (Mark 6:46). Luke writes, “Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed” (Luke 5:16). What’s more, sometimes Jesus “spent the night praying to God” (Luke 6:12). Are you seeing a pattern here? Our Elder Brother wisely leveraged quiet places to hear from God the Father and fellowship with him.

I’m not necessarily suggesting that we have to leave our homes in order to experience solitude — although retreating to the mountains, a state park or a beachside cottage would be a wonderful way to leave behind the noise of this world. That’s not always practical, however. But the isolation necessary to hear from God can exist wherever you are physically. How? By turning off your cell phone, television, radio and any other electronic device that might break your focus.

You might also consider spending time outside, especially during the dark of night or the predawn morning hours. A local park or preserve offers a great place to sit and meditate on the Lord. This time is best spent alone — no spouse, children or friends; no phone contact; no texting. Although the noise of civilization may be around you, such a setting will be much more quiet than your normal routine.

“He Is Not Silent,” a song by Out of the Grey, summarizes our situation: “He is not silent. We are not listening.” Do you really want to experience the Lord’s leading in your career transition? Then recognize that none of us will ever know what his direction is until we nurture a closer relationship with him.

WAIT

I was praying in the darkness of the early morning, pondering a question my husband and I discussed just yesterday.  Why?

You will have your own Whys as you WAIT on The One who has all the answers.  Your heavenly Father knows you best of all; He created you “for such a time as this.”

God has a plan and a purpose for your life; one that you will be passionate about; one that will bring you great fulfillment!

Though you may be frustrated with your life right now, and you may struggle with fears, depression, addictions, and poor choices, know that there is LIGHT at the end of your tunnel.

Seek first The love of Jesus, and be reminded of all He’s done for you in His sacrifice on the cross.  Trust, by faith, and believe, that as you WAIT for answers, your whys will become clear.

Following is one of my favorite poems that I purchased in book form in 2003. Enjoy, be touched, and know I am praying for you to find Peace!

The WAIT Poem by Russell Kelfer

Desperately, helplessly, longingly, I cried;
Quietly, patiently, lovingly, God replied.
I pled and I wept for a clue to my fate . . .
And the Master so gently said,”Wait.”

“Wait? You say wait?” my indignant reply.
“Lord, I need answers, I need to know why!”
Is your hand shortened? Or have you not heard?
By faith I have asked, and I’m claiming your Word.

My future and all to which I relate,
Hangs in the balance, and you tell me to Wait?”
I’m needing a ‘yes,’ a go-ahead sign.
Or even a ‘no,’ to which I’ll resign.

You promised, dear Lord, that if we believe,
We need but to ask, and we shall receive.
Lord, I’ve been asking, and this is my cry:
I’m weary of asking! I need a reply.

Then quietly, softly, I learned of my fate,
As my Master replied again, “Wait.”
So I slumped in my chair, defeated and taut,
And grumbled to God, “So, I’m waiting . . . for what?”

He seemed then to kneel, and His eyes met with mine . . .
And He tenderly said, “I could give you a sign.
I could shake the heavens and darken the sun.
I could raise the dead and cause mountains to run.

I could give all you seek and pleased you would be.
You’d have what you want, but you wouldn’t know Me.
You’d not know the depth of My love for each saint.
You’d not know the power that I give to the faint.

You’d not learn to see through clouds of despair;
You’d not learn to trust just by knowing I’m there.
You’d not know the joy of resting in Me,
When darkness and silence are all you can see.

You’d never experience the fullness of love,
When the peace of My spirit descends like a dove.
You would know that I give, and I save, for a start,
But you’d not know the depth of the beat of My heart.

The glow of My comfort late into the night,
The faith that I give when you walk without sight.
The depth that’s beyond getting just what you ask,
From an infinite God who makes what you have last.

You’d never know should your pain quickly flee,
What it means that My grace is sufficient for thee.
Yes, your dearest dreams overnight would come true,
But oh, the loss if I lost what I’m doing in you.

So, be silent, my child, and in time you will see,
That the greatest of gifts is to truly know me.
And though oft My answers seem terribly late,
My most precious answer of all is still “WAIT”.

Light Prayers: 25. Darkness Separated from Light

I’ve written a book called “Darkness and Light – The Little Girl in Pink” (A Journey from Fear to Faith), more info. at http://www.treesright.com.

The book is a beautifully illustrated depiction of the emotions of an abused child, and the journey we’re all on in life, to expose the darkness around us and bring ourselves into the healing presence of the LIGHT and LIFE of Yeshua (Jesus)!

(See link for song & book illustrations You Are Light)

I was pleasantly surprised to come across Arthur Burk’s blog with daily readings on LIGHT. Thank you, Mr. Burk; for this blog, and for your book, “Blessing Your Spirit.”  It has helped to transform me from a child of fear to a woman of faith, allowing my spirit, the true essence of who I am in God, to shine brightly as a light for the world to see and be drawn to Jesus.

I encourage each one who reads this to go towards the light of God, embrace Him, and expose the darkness within your soul, to be renewed and brought into proper alignment with your body, led by your spirit, that desires to obey and follow The Holy Spirit.

Amen! So be it!

To Judge or Not to Judge?

TRUE, we are not supposed to judge UNBELIEVERS because they have not yet surrendered their lives to Jesus, but we are called to judge the fruit of those that say they are Christian (Matthew 7:1-29), including OUR OWN FRUIT!

But, that doesn’t mean we’re to condemn them – that’s self-righteousness. Yet CONVICTION comes when the Holy Spirit draws us into truth, healing & cleansing us, and drawing us into deeper intimacy with our Daddy God and His living resurrected Son, Jesus.

FAMILIAR SPIRITS constantly war with our flesh. FOR ME it’s a

1) spirit of fear and anxiety – (trying to control the unknown),

2) a critical spirit – (forgetting to have GRACE, for myself & others, letting God do His work in me and them),

3) a spirit of distrust of others, or not trusting God – (because of the ABUSE that has been done to me over the years – sexually, mentally, verbally, and spiritually in the church), 4) a judgmental spirit – (quick to point out others’ sin, before looking at the sin in my own life that needs removal), 5) and a spirit of offense – (at those that don’t do or say what I want to see or hear.)

Yeah, “WE ALL SIN,” but we DON’T ALL KEEP ON SINNING. Once we say “YES” to Jesus, He lives inside us.  That’s how He ENCOUNTERS US SO SUPERNATURALLY.   Then we walk out our salvation, day by day, overcoming sin and gaining victory in Jesus.
We’re not meant to do this on our own. It’s a place of vulnerability and humility, with those that also struggle but have overcome, taking the road less traveled by the world – the NARROW ROAD – away from compromise and fence walking (one foot in the world, and one foot in Heaven).
How do we do that? By growing in deeper intimacy with God, rather than giving misplaced time and devotion to people and things.  (Those “can” become idols.)
I am convicted of the struggles with MY OWN IDOLS of time wasters such as:

1) Busyness “for the sake of ministry,” though not necessarily what God wants me to involve my time with

2) Overindulgence in areas of food and entertainment

3) And codependent relationships – idolizing, concerned about, and devoted to my husband, grown children, and friendships, more than developing a deeper RELATIONSHIP with God, the ONE who made me, and knows me so intricately.

WE ARE ALL SEARCHING FOR LOVE AND ACCEPTANCE, but often in places, and in things, that are harmful and give only temporary relief.  But we are deceived unless we RUN TO JESUS to heal those wounds, and fill that hole of hurt and loneliness that ONLY HE CAN FILL!
When life comes crashing down around us, it all comes down to two questions: “What is love?” and “What is obedience?” The Bible, God’s love letter to us, says “Perfect love casts out ALL fear.” (1 John 4:18) And “If you love Me, obey Me.” (John 14:15) Well, God is PERFECT LOVE, and obedience is your choice.  Choose LIFE, and choose wisely.
Praying for the PEACE AND ASSURANCE of your Savior, to know and believe that HIS LOVE IS ENOUGH!

Sincerely for Souls,
Kathleen

Know Your A, B, C’s – Authority, Bind and Loose, Consecrate

HOW TO WIN A SPIRITUAL WAR (My spin on lessons learned from Rhonda Calhoun, Harvest Home, and my time as an intern at Our Father’s Farm.)

1) Consecrate your imagination, your will, and your emotions to be aligned with your heavenly Father, Jesus, and Holy Spirit.

 2) Take authority, in the name of Yeshua (Jesus), against the things you’re struggling with, knowing God has already conquered them at the cross for you, THROUGH Jesus.

3) Invite God’s warring and ministering angels to be with you.

4) Bind yourself to the truths of
God (and recite them), while you …

5) Loose yourself from the lies of the enemy that are the opposites of these truths (list them).

6) BLESS YOUR SPIRIT with biblical truths daily, telling your spirit to wake up and follow the leading of Holy Spirit, and commanding your soul (mind, will, and emotions), and your body to get in step BEHIND the leading of your spirit with Holy Spirit. (Proverbs 20:27)

It’s all out WARFARE, but He who is in you is GREATER than he who is in the world.

However, you must activate your faith by using the spiritual muscles and weapons (tools) God has given you.

REMEMBER the power and attributes of God’s armor on you in Ephesians 6:11, declare scriptures out loud until they become a reality, and praise God and thank Him, calling on His name.

Fight the good fight, mighty warrior, which wins a crown for eternity!

How Can a Man Love Like a Bride? A Study on the Disciple John – “Whom Jesus Loved”

Over the years I have studied the Song of Solomon, using many different teachings and interpretations from others, to help me understand our relationship as the Beloved and the Lover, the Bride and the Bridegroom, the church and Jesus.

As a woman, it is easy for me to relate to the analogy of the bride preparing for her bridegroom, Jesus. However, I have often noticed and pondered how difficult it can be for some men to relate to this concept. Isn’t a “bride” a woman after all?

So many men grow up relying on media role models like John Wayne, “Rambo,” and Harrison Ford. To be a true man is the message of “self” reliance, “self” sufficiency, and “self” gratification.

I propose that men can learn to see themselves as “the Bride of Christ,” once they view the life, love, and sacrifice of Jesus as seen from the perspective of John, “the disciple whom Jesus loved” (John 21: 20).

In John 1:14, Jesus is portrayed as the glory of God, full of grace and truth. How different a reflection of love, compared to that of Hollywood stars. A love glorifying God and others rather than self.

Through the eyes of the disciple John, we see the unattained legalism of the law fulfilled in mercy and grace, a role model set before us in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus.

The Song of Solomon can have a sexual undertone, which is beautiful in the sanctity of marriage, but that is only one interpretation. The other is the relationship between God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit as they prepare the bride, the end times church, for the wedding of all eternity. It will be such a glorious celebration, and we need to be prepared, clean and whole, making ourself ready to receive in fulness the One who loves us so completely.

How can a man live and love like a bride? Follow the example of Jesus and those whom He loved.

(More will be added to this blog
as I develop the revelation of the bride through the eyes of John.)

Faith and Marriage Ministries » Prayers For Marriage Restoration – Women

As I contend and war for the restoration of my marriage, in all areas, I must realize I am in an all out battle for our souls.

I must be battle ready, daily, through prayer, repentance, worship, study in the word, and a review of the heavenly armor of God (Eph. 6).

I wear this armor continuously, even when I sleep, but I must renew my mind (consecrate my imagination) in the power of God as I wear each piece.  I must daily ask if I have given the enemy a foothold (a kink in my armor), allowing him access to torment and weaken my resolve.

When I remind myself of the armor I wear, I am also reminding myself that “Jesus who is in me is greater than he who is in the world” (1 John 4: 4 NKJV). And, I must remember that each piece of the armor is an attribute and a name of God that I choose to wear.

I call on the power of God, in His armor, to stand against the assault of the wicked one, and I march forth, as an anointed soldier, fighting the good fight, victorious to the end! (See my earlier blog post describing what my personal armor looks like.)

I found the ministry link below as I was praying for my marriage in the early morning hours of my day.  The scripture and prayers that follow will encourage and uplift you as you fight for the marriage God intended you both to have.

May you find support and resolve as you continue to persevere for what is good and right in God’s sight.

You can also read more prayers, and sign up for ongoing prayer support with the ministry attached.  Just follow the links at the bottom of the prayer.

Blessings, and honor, and favor to you,

– A Fellow Warrior Contending in Faith,

Kathleen

Cardinal of Hope

Cardinal of Hope

On a day that is bleak, though there’s new fallen snow,

You fret and you ponder which way you should go.

You haven’t the heart to believe any more

That the plans He has made would your own faith restore.

You’ve struggled and tried to use your own power

To understand things before the right hour.

But Jesus replies, “Rest in my unending grace.

Know my love and purpose is surely in place.

I will not leave you nor forsake you my child;

Your faith is the fabric put on in the trial.

So trust in me daughter and lean not on you,

For the secret lies deep in the pain you go through.

Acknowledge me daily with every heart cry,

And I will show you the answer to ‘Why?’

The fruit you produce in obedience will

One day be a legacy your children fulfill.

So look for the blessing I will send your way;

A cardinal of hope to strengthen your day.”

All my love,

Jesus
